New Year

Quote
"The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!"
Edward Payson Powell

My Thoughts
We all occasionally dwell on past mistakes, failures, and regrets. We all sometimes find ourselves asking "Why?", "Why did this happen to me?", or "Why did he/she do that to me?". It's great to learn from mistakes, but do not let mistakes prevent you from moving forward. Do not fall into the trap of over analyzing your past.
Recognize that mistakes were made, however now it is time to look to the future, to move on. It's time to let go of the past, and start imagining the future you want to live.
I encourage all of you to forgive yourself, and forgive those that harmed you. This will allow you to truly start heading in the direction of your dreams.

Until Next Time....

Fear

Here is an awesome quote:
"The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one. "
-John Maxwell

My Thoughts
Fear is a very common thing, especially when we are attempting to make a change in our life. Usually, the bigger the change, the greater the fear. This fear can, at times, seem overwhelming. Many people let this stop them, they give up before even trying.
The greatest way to conquer your fear is to face it. One other thing to realize is that all of us make mistakes. It's learning from those mistakes that allows us to grow. I encourage all of you to face your fears, learn from your mistakes, and live your life.

Until next time...

Security

Here is something to think about:
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."
-Helen Keller

My Opinion
We all must break out of our comfort zones in order for change to take place. This can be quite scary at times, and obviously will be uncomfortable. The bigger the change, usually the more uncomfortable you will feel. So many of us often get stuck doing something in life that we dislike, or even hate. If you really think about, we stay because we feel safe, secure, and comfortable. If you dislike where you are currently at in your life, I urge you to think about what is it that you really want? What is it that you are truly passionate about? After finding the answer, go out and start living your adventure.

Until next time....

Goals

A quote to ponder:
“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”
-Michelangelo

My Opinion
What a great quote, although even worse is not having an aim or goal at all. If we do choose a goal, so many of us often set goals that we know how to achieve. This is not the main purpose of a goal, and this can often lead to dissatisfaction. The main purpose of a goal is to stretch you beyond your current limitations; to pull out of yourself something that you did not even know you possessed.
I encourage all of you to set yearlong goals that will scare and excite you at the same time.

Until next time....
