Here is a great quote:
You see things; and you say, "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say, "Why not?"
-George Bernard Shaw
My thoughts:
Imagine a world where nobody looked around and said "Why not?". It would be a pretty depressing place. We would not have computers, airplanes, lights, internet, etc.... So many of us tend to focus on what we don't want, we all need to start imagining what we do want.
Here is my suggestion: Instead of looking at all the problems that surround a task or goal; Imagine the end, the completion. This will put you in a completely different mindset. You will move from seeing problems to seeing solutions.
Until next time....

Indecision
"Each indecision brings its own delays and days are lost lamenting over lost days... What you can do or think you can do, begin it. For boldness has magic, power, and genius in it."
-Goethe
My opinion:
There really is tremendous power in deciding to do something. The most successful people in the world develop a habit of making decisions and they don't ask for everyone's opinion. Believe in your own abilities.
Oftentimes, we look at all the obstacles that stand in our way but look at what Goethe is saying, what you can do...begin it. It doesn't have to be this huge leap, it can be one small step. Decide.
Until next time....

Change
Here is a quote I wanted to share:
"Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become."
-Author Unknown
My take:
I have heard a lot of people say that they don't want to change, they just want to remain comfortable. Sure they don't want to go backward but they don't want to put in the effort to go forward. This is an illusion. The idea that you can simply stay in one place and never change. You are either growing or you are disintegrating.
What do I mean by this?
Well suppose you are the same person as you were three years ago. Same job, same income, same education, same arguments with wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfriend, everything is the same. It would appear that you haven't lost anything nor have you gained anything. But you did lose something.
You have lost time and time is something you will never get back.
If you have some idea that you would like to start, stop waiting around for the circumstances to be perfect. Go and get started. Change.
Until next time......

Perception
Perception is one of our intellectual faculties. Our perception is how we see a situation. It's our viewpoint and we all have a unique view of the world. You know it was Emerson who said "People only see what they are prepared to see". I think that is very true.
I'll give you a quick example. Imagine that you are sitting in front of me and I am holding a piece of paper. The front side of the paper has writing on it and the back side is blank. I show you the front side of the paper and ask "Is there anything on the paper." Of course you would reply yes. I would say there is not. You would insist that there is something on the paper. Then I turn over the paper and show you the back side and ask the same question again. You would then say there is nothing on the paper.
Oftentimes in life we are looking at the same situation from different sides of the paper. Perception causes many disagreements because we always think we are right and the other person in wrong. A shift in perception will produce a shift in the way you see life.
Remember this, you can view an obstacle negatively as something that will stop you or you can view that same obstacle as a time to grow.

Fear
What keeps holding us back from doing what we truly want to do, what keeps preventing us from what we truly want to become? Well besides the fact that we don't believe in ourselves it is also fear. The two main fears we face are fear of failure and fear of criticism.
So often, we don't go after what we want because we don't actually believe we are capable of attaining it. Instead of even trying we just give up, "What's the use?" we usually say to ourselves.
Another thing we love to do, is go around and get everyone's opinions about things that we want to be, do or have. The funny thing is usually the person you are talking to has no experience regarding the advice you are seeking.
I want you to really sit down and think about "What do I want to do?", "What do I want to be?", "What do I want to have?". I mean really give those questions some thought and write down your answers. When you are finished don't go running around asking everyone their opinions, instead start off in the direction of your dreams.

Happiness
The following thoughts on Unhappiness and Happiness are taken from the book "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Dr. Joesph Murphy.
Many people choose unhappiness without realizing it. For example many of us choose thoughts such as:
-Today is a bad day, everything is going to go wrong.
-I am not going to succeed.
-Everyone is against me.
-Business is bad and it will only get worse.
-I am always late.
-I never get the breaks.
-He can do it, but I can't.
Realize that the world you live in is determined by what goes on in your mind. Marcus Aurelius, the great Roman philosopher, said, "A man's life is what his thoughts make of it".
So how can you get out of these habits of thinking negative thoughts?
Here is a suggestion:
When you wake up, say to yourself, "I chose happiness today. I choose success today. I choose right action today. I choose love and goodwill for all today. I choose peace today." Pur life, love, and interest into this affirmation, and you have chosen happiness.
Give thanks for all you have several times a day. Furthermore, ask for peace, happiness, and prosperity of the members of your family, your associates, and all people everywhere.
Lastly, you must sincerely desire to be happy.
-Dr. Joesph Murphy

Updates
So I finished my DOD contracting job on May 29th. My wife and I have started our business called "One Amazing Life". We managed to find an office, which by the way everyone told us would be impossible to do with what we were looking for. Well we found exactly what we wanted and at the price we wanted it for. We also found a new place to live which was also exactly what we were looking for.
Workouts have been going well. I am a week into my cutting diet and I've lost around 4lbs. I think this is a bit too much weight to lose in a week so I will play with my calories a bit.
